This week we witnessed the most shameful performance by an American president I’ve ever seen.

President Trump stood next to Vladimir Putin and said he did not believe Russia interfered in our elections…because Putin told him so.

The CIA, FBI, NSA, among others, have shown ironclad evidence that Russia meddled in the 2016 election. 12 Russian military intelligence officials were indicted for interfering in the election just days before the summit.

To trust Putin’s word over the men and women in our intelligence community is disgraceful. Trying to walk back his remarks in Helsinki a day later does not change that.

In their press conference, Putin confirmed what we already knew — he wanted Trump to win the 2016 Presidential election. Mueller’s indictment shows Russian operatives took active measures to discredit Hillary Clinton and bolster the Trump campaign. No wonder Trump rewarded them with a friendly meeting.

Mueller’s investigation is crucial to getting to the bottom of this shameful mess. Sign your name if you believe Mueller and his work should be protected from political interference.
